--- title: "Getting started with Dmisc" output: rmarkdown::html_vignette vignette: > %\VignetteIndexEntry{Getting started with Dmisc} %\VignetteEngine{knitr::rmarkdown} %\VignetteEncoding{UTF-8} --- Dmisc 0.4.0 provides utilities for numeric columns, calendar dates, summaries and assignment. It also exposes the connection adapters used by other ENDOM packages. The public API comprises `cut3`, `cut3_quantile`, `vars_to_date`, `describe`, unpacking operators, pipe re-exports and `db_connect` with its historical alias. Old unexported time-series and plotting implementations remain internal. This release does not promote them into supported public API. Use R >= 4.1. Data functions operate on local data.frames or tibbles. Loading Dmisc does not change global conflict preferences or open connections. Table rendering and database dependencies are needed when those features are requested. Install the source package or Windows ZIP after its dependencies. The deployment guide describes building, checking and distribution. Record the package version when reproducing an analysis: functional group boundaries and weights have corrected behavior in 0.4.0. ```{r} library(Dmisc) x <- data.frame(value = c(10, 20, 30, 40), group = c("A", "A", "B", "B")) cut3(x, "value", c(0, 25, 50), labels = c("low", "high")) describe(x["value"]) stopifnot(as.character(packageVersion("Dmisc")) == "0.4.0") ```
